Busy Time for Cheer at MHS

We have 54 little ones registered for our cheer clinic!!! That's awesome! Shirts are ordered and parents, you can now start working on the menu for the evening! If you can help anytime between 3:00 and 7:00, please contact one of the officers and let them know! It takes a village to teach little ones cheers! We will be feeding a total of 77 kids (54 little ones and 23 big ones). I am mailing the receipt letters today with the parent pass included. If your big cheerleader would like to have a clinic shirt, they are $5 each.

A rough schedule for that day is:

3:15 start registration in the Sports Complex lobby - it gets hectic at times!
3:30 divide into grades, potty and wash hands, and start some games
3:45 start teaching them chants
4:05 start teaching them cheers
4:25 review chants and cheers
4:30 potty break by grade level
4:40 start working on dance
5:00 Review chants, cheer, and dance
5:10 start washing hands and potty break
5:15 - start feeding by grade level
6:00 - hand out shirts
6:15 - head toward the field
6:25 - get 3-5 on track for performance
6:35 - get K-2 on track for performance
6:40 - all do dance
DONE!!!!!
Remember, all times are approximate! If it worked this easy, I'd be a millionaire :)

Other things on the horizon -

Homecoming is October 1. Varsity will be performing at the pep assembly, jv and varsity will be doing the fight song and some chants at the pep assembly, and both squads will be walking in the parade. And, we are so very honored to have our varsity captain Courtney Baker as one of the queen candidates!!! There will be lots going on that week and as soon as I have a schedule, I'll pass it on to you!

Drive 4UR School event is October 2 - Auffenburg Motors is asking for our help once again. When we assisted them in the spring, they donated $600 to the cheer fund! We can make that much again if the kids volunteer! We will have two shifts that day - 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 and 12:30 to 4:00 p.m. It would be absolutely awesome if we could get about 6-8 kids per shift!

Elk's Hamburger Feed for cheerleaders October 15 - The Elk's Lodge has graciously invited both jv and varsity to a hamburger cook-out before the Oct. 15 game with Moberly. I will have more details on times later.

Senior Night October 22 (?) - Not sure if this is the date yet, but traditionally Senior Night is the last home game of the season. Will have something extra special planned for the senior leader on our squad.

Think that's it for September and October!!! Remember state competition is November 20 and it will be in the late afternoon/evening. As soon as I get more information on that, I will pass it on.
